Newcastle's iconic Ocean Baths with its Art Deco facade and classic features has been captured into a surreal 'snap shot' oil painting.  My late grandmother Mercia Delprat, is seen posing in her summer swimwear, lit up by the sun while wading in the shallow waters that are strangely in front of the entrance. This memory of carefree experiences past  is kept alive in paint.  Regardless of my personal take on the Ocean Baths, this place is nostalgic for everyone who has lived in this area and enjoys this place.
