Time & Transformation
Transformation is a central theme throughout my work. The natural world constantly changes through cycles of growth, decay, renewal, and rebirth, mirroring the human experience.
Through layered imagery and symbolic elements, I explore how time reshapes both landscapes and inner worlds. Moments are not fixed; they evolve, overlap, and leave traces behind. My paintings seek to capture this continual process of becoming, where change is not an ending but a pathway to new possibilities.

Time & Transformation
Time is one of the recurring themes that flows throughout my artwork.
My fascination with time began during my Master’s research into Time and the Visual Arts, where I explored how visual imagery can represent memory, change, continuity, and the passage of experience. During this period, shells began appearing naturally within my work and have remained an enduring symbol ever since.
The shell fascinates me because it carries a visible record of growth. Through its spiral progression, it contains traces of its past while continuing to unfold towards its future. It becomes a symbol of becoming—a reminder that life is never static.
This concept extends beyond the shell and into many elements of my paintings.
The ocean itself is a powerful metaphor for transformation. Waves rise and fall, tides advance and retreat, and no two moments upon the water are ever identical. The sea reminds us that change is not something to resist but an essential part of life.
In my recent works, bubbles have emerged as another symbol of time. Fragile and luminous, they drift briefly through space before disappearing. These delicate forms represent moments, memories, and experiences that exist for only a short time. Like time capsules suspended between yesterday and tomorrow, they remind us of life's fleeting beauty and precious impermanence.

This painting is especially meaningful to me, as I began it for my beautiful mother before she passed away from melanoma. In many ways, the bubbles came to embody the treasured moments we hold onto, even as time moves forward. Though fleeting, love, memory, and connection remain with us, surfacing gently throughout our lives like reflections carried upon the sea.
Works such as Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow explore the continuity of existence, where past experiences shape the present while future possibilities continue to unfold. The Tempest of Change reflects the turbulence and uncertainty that often accompany transformation, while The Golden Hour celebrates those rare moments of clarity, peace, and illumination that emerge through life’s transitions.

In Beyond Horizons, the distant meeting of sea and sky becomes a symbol of possibility and the unknown future that continually calls us forward. Works such as Escape and Sea Breeze invite viewers into spaces of reflection, where time seems to slow and the mind is free to wander beyond the demands of everyday life.
Through these images, I seek to create visual spaces where viewers can contemplate their own journeys through time. The paintings become reminders that growth often occurs gradually, that change is natural, and that beauty can be found within every stage of life’s unfolding process.
Time is not merely something that passes. It shapes us, transforms us, and leaves traces of its presence within every experience, just as the sea leaves its mark upon the shore.
