Dream
Dream was inspired by expansive cloud formations observed across the Newcastle coastline — bright, dynamic and filled with atmospheric movement. The composition captures a sense of lightness and vitality within the sky, echoed by seagulls moving through the upper field of the painting.
 
A large rose murex shell introduces a surreal focal form, directing the viewer’s gaze upward through the composition. The shell’s natural structure and spiral rhythm reference themes of ascent, continuity and organic movement between states of being.
 
Deep green sea tones anchor the lower composition, introducing visual weight and tonal depth. The water surface becomes a reflective space where colour and atmosphere merge, creating a sense of quiet transition between elements.
Layered oil glazing allows colour and light to develop slowly across the surface, producing a soft internal luminosity.
 
Dream is designed for interiors seeking balance between energy and calm — a work that holds presence within living spaces while maintaining atmospheric depth and visual movement.
