Chiragra ~ Original Spider Conch Illustration
Chiragra ~ Original Spider Conch Illustration
Original spider conch illustration on paper by Carmen Delprat, 2024
Chiragra is an original illustration centred on the distinctive form of the Chiragra Spider Conch, a shell defined by elongated extensions, sculptural rhythm and intricate natural markings.
The spiral structure introduces a quiet sense of movement within stillness, drawing the eye inward through layered line and tonal development. Delicate detailing builds depth gradually, allowing contrast and softness to coexist within the composition.
Rendered with refined pencil work and subtle colour layering, the surface reveals nuance over time. The balance between structural strength and organic fluidity gives the piece both clarity and quiet dynamism.
About the Chiragra Spider Conch
The Chiragra Spider Conch is known for its hooked, claw-like spines that reach out from the shell like fingers. I see it as strength worn openly: fierce, defended and unafraid to take up space, yet built with sculptural grace.
Designed for contemplative interiors, the work offers subtle visual movement and composed presence, a study in form, rhythm and restrained transformation.
