Between The Tides of Time

Between the Tides of Time ~ Newcastle Baths Seascape Limited Edition Art Print
Limited Edition Hand-Signed Fine Art Print by Carmen Delprat
Medium: Oil on Canvas

Artwork description
Between the Tides of Time is a limited edition Newcastle Baths seascape art print by Australian artist Carmen Delprat, reproduced from her original 2023 oil painting. It explores atmospheric movement, emotional depth and rhythm present within natural environments.

Inspired by the curve of the Newcastle Baths and the water washing into the baths from the ocean, the composition captures the sensation of wind, sea and shifting sky rather than a literal representation of place. In this painting, bubbles emerged as symbols of fleeting moments: those memories, emotions and experiences that briefly rise into our awareness before drifting away. Together, the elements explore my own reflections on time, change and continuity.

Deep magentas and purple tones establish atmospheric energy and spatial depth, while blue and marine accents introduce a cool lightness established by the bubbles contrasting with the deep unexpected Red Sea. In the original, layered oil glazing allows colour and light to develop slowly across the surface.
