Arachne the Spider has been said to be the '13th sign' of the zodiac. This sign was first described in James Voghs' book Arachne Rising. There are other names for the  '13th sign', such as Ophiuchus, the God of Medicine. However, I prefer the title for this artwork as is. Despite what people may say - myth or truth in the '13th sign', the symbolic vibrations that Arachne emulates became evident once I complete the drawing. In truth, I did not know what I was really creating until it was finished! So you may say I worked intuitively (once again), on this artwork and only knowing I wanted to incoporate the exotic spider shell somehow with a portrait of a woman with brown eyes.
 
You can read into the work what you may - that is the ultimate purpose of producing art to share. I hope Arachne can resonate with you in some way and you  find a connect with this Earth signs symbolism and mystique. Enjoy.
