Tempest of Change

Tempest of Change | Dudley Beach Seascape | Carmen Delprat
Oil Painting on Canvas. 92cm x 120cm, 2023.

Tempest of Change
Tempest of Change is an original large-scale seascape oil painting by Australian artist Carmen Delprat, 92 cm x 120 cm, 2023, inspired by Dudley Beach.

Tempest of Change explores the atmospheric movement, emotional depth and the invisible forces present within natural environments. The composition captures the sensation of wind, sea and shifting sky rather than a literal representation of place. The painting exists between landscape and abstraction, translating environmental energy into flowing compositional forms.

Curving line work moves across the surface with intuitive rhythm, echoing the continuous exchange between sea and sky. The gesture introduces visual movement while maintaining compositional balance and structural presence.

Deep blues and aqua tones establish atmospheric calm and spatial depth, while copper-gold and emerald accents introduce warmth and grounding contrast. Layered oil glazing allows colour and light to develop slowly across the surface, creating an internal luminosity that shifts with viewing conditions.

Tempest of Change is designed as a statement-scale work for interiors seeking visual presence, balance and atmospheric strength — a painting intended to hold space within contemporary living environments.
