Curls of the Abyss
Curls of the Abyss is a pencil illustration exploring the sculptural rhythm and natural elegance of the Triton’s Trumpet shell.
 
The spiral form becomes the central visual language of the work, creating a sense of inward movement and quiet expansion. Built through gradual tonal layering, the drawing develops depth through refined line work and controlled shading, allowing light and shadow to softly define the surface.
 
The intricate pencil detailing captures subtle transitions between darkness and light, giving the work an atmospheric and tactile presence despite its monochromatic medium.
 
Curls of the Abyss is conceived as an intimate study of natural form — designed to hold quiet visual presence within interior spaces.
